Job Summary:
Based in Truro, a key position has arisen for an experienced Project Manager.  You will be responsible for delivering a wide range of capital works projects on our clients partners public sector estate. This will involve all stages from preparing the brief with end users, to tendering and contract administration.
Each year, as partner to the NHS in Cornwall, their sister company Community 1st Cornwall manages a portfolio of capital works projects across the estate which vary from alterations and improvements, to backlog maintenance and estate rationalisation.
 
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with the end users of a building to understand their needs from an operation perspective, and develop a project brief.
With reference to Building regulations and other relevant guidance develop a technical brief and specification for the project.
Instruct and manage the design team to produce the information necessary to tender and construct the works.
Manage the tendering of the works.
Produce a project plan for approval by the public sector Client.
Carry out the role of Contract Administrator for the works.
Co-ordinate the works with the Client and end users throughout.
Manage the defects correction period and monitor client satisfaction.
Report to the Director and to the management team.
Other duties may be assigned as the role develops.
 
Organisational Position
This is a key position in an expanding division. Our client are responsible for a multimillion pound investment portfolio mainly within LIFT (Local Improvement Finance Trust), PFI (Private Finance Initiative) and similar lease arrangements, as well as other corporate investment opportunities.
Their organisational reputation is paramount and your role is to assist in maintaining this reputation and maintaining excellent relationships with their clients and tenants. 
 
Key Skill / Experience Requirements
Newly qualified or more experienced Project Manager.
RICS qualified or recent graduate with RICS accredited degree or similar from CIOB, ABE or equivalent.
Experience of project management, design management and contract administration.
Very computer literate with ability to manipulate and mark up drawings and generate professional reports and spread sheets (CAD experience would be a benefit). Fluent in MS Office packages and MS Project.
Excellent academic background, with an analytical mind as well as good attitude to problem solving.
Professional and presentable appearance.
Enthusiastic.
Full clean driving licence.
